Lisa Gruenloh, MA, ACC founded Empower Parties in 2008 to more deeply fulfill her passion for helping people develop and pursue their life vision, achieve their goals and be truly joyful. She is a Certified Professional Coach, credentialed by the International Coach Federation.
Lisa believes coaching is a unique and powerful opportunity to develop a new way of thinking and acting every day that makes it possible to seek and live our life purpose, improve relationships, overcome obstacles and manage change, and maintain a sense of inner peace no matter what our life’s circumstances. Prior to her coaching career, Lisa had a diverse professional background in public relations, political communication and journalism. With extensive experience in crisis management, media training, and employee engagement, Lisa has provided senior communications counsel for government, business and advocacy leaders.
Lisa has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries at some of the nation’s leading public relations firms. As a vice president at Golin/Harris International, Lisa planned media relations activities for Arlington County, Va., which led the 10-day rescue and recovery effort at the Pentagon following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack – developing strategy for the release of the After Action Report and leading media efforts for the one-year anniversary of 9/11.
Much of Lisa’s career was spent in Washington, D.C., where she served as communications director and spokesperson to members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Lisa also served as a Clinton administration appointee at the National Credit Union Administration. Prior to that, she was a reporter and producer at two National Public Radio affiliates and a freelance journalist.
Lisa earned her master’s degree in Public Communication from American University in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in Government and Broadcasting. Lisa continues to serve Northwest on the Department of Mass Communication’s Professional Advisory Council. Continuing education includes certificate programs in Six Sigma Green Belt, Organizational Leadership, Business Analysis and Project Management from Villanova University.
Pro bono and volunteer work is an important part of Lisa’s life. She enjoys contributing time to the advocacy efforts involving children living with disabilities and disadvantaged children and families. She works with the Naples Equestrian Challenge, Ronald McDonald House and Humane Society. A former lifeguard and swim instructor (in her youth!), she also is a certified Water Safety Instructor with the American Red Cross and volunteers her time to teach kids life-saving information and skills.

Ellen is a certified professional co-active coach with advanced training in Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching. She received her coach training and certification from The Coaches Training Institute, the first ever to be recognized by The International Coach Federation. Her BA degree is from University of Florida, and her Masters was obtained from University of North Florida, both in Education.
Her extensive background includes teaching hearing-impaired children from birth through elementary school. She implemented and organized many educational workshops, training, and seminars for their parents.
Ellen has also been involved in a number of entrepreneurial ventures, and for the past 19 years has focused on marketing and promotional sales. Her success in those endeavors makes her a natural for coaching individuals and businesses.

Ellen enjoys living in connection with who she is. Although her life has had many twists and turns, with an occasional volcano or tornado thrown in, she would not change a thing. It has made her who she is. She appreciates all of her past experiences and uses them as stepping stones to implement what is next. Ellen is divorced, happily remarried, mother of two, bonus mom of one, and LOVES the joy each of those roles provide her.
